SHERLULZ

DRAMA AND LULZ AND NOTHING INBETWEEN

(((SPOILERS))) What I liked about The Hound of Baskerville

THIS WAS BASICALLY AN EPISODE OF THE X-FILES.
SECRET MILITARY BASES, RUNNING AROUND THE WOODS AT NIGHT WITH TORCHES… AND I LOVED IT! (it’s funny because I’ve been wanting to draw Sherlock and John as Mulder and Scully for some time now XD)

Omg, where to start…
So, agitated Sherlock in the beginning REALLY made me restless as well. STOP TWITCHING, GODDAMN. I thought it was a bit over the top but then again, Sherlock is pretty dramatic in everything he does.
Hahaha, okay, when they arrived at the Inn, I KNEW there would be more innuendo (and sure enough the only-one-room-left-trope was used, one of my favourites! Too bad we didn’t get to see any of it XD)
The case itself was so-so (especially the bits simply consisting of Russell freaking out were kinda boring because repetitive), pretty predictable, although I loved the mystery element and I lovedlovedloved the military base location. Goddamn, did they take lighting lessons from JJ Abrams or something? I could barely see anything because of the billion lensflares in my eyes. John pulling rank was SEXY. Sherlock obviously thought so, too. Speaking of sexy, so John gets distracted by Sherlock’s cheekbones. I SEE.

Now for Sherlock’s panic attack in front of the fireplace. Nooot quite sure whether I bought it. I mean yes, I see the logic behind it and he explained it well enough a minute later, but him almost breaking out in hysteric crying was a bit weird.
Speaking of weird: Sherlock has a “mind palace”. JUST LIKE HANNIBAL LECTER. Should that concern us? XD I was expecting a walk through his mind palace (omg that would have been awesome), but instead we got something that looked more like Minority Report and convinced me for a second that he must actually be an android.

The little John/Sherlock dispute in the middle was cute (anyone else glad the “I HAVE NO FRIENDS, ONLY CHINS” scene was in this episode and not the next one?), Sherlock seemed genuinely sorry… although of course he then proceded to experiment on John some more. XD

I almost exploded because of Surprise!Lestrade! (I know he’s in the book as well but omg, it’s been AGES since I’ve read it and I completely forgot)
What’s going on this season, he’s a hoot! Being all cheeky in sunglasses. Brown as a nut. SENT. THERE. BY. MYCROFT. Okay, so I had never seen enough of a basis for me to ship Mystrade before, but please bring on the fanfiction. He does his bidding readily enough, apparently. XD

Now, the ending was obviously to prepare us for the epic (NOOOOOO) finale (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO) next week. Hnnnngh, I really wanna know how Mycroft got Moriarty and why he had to let him go. D8|
Edit: OMGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

In conclusion: This wasn’t as brilliant as Belgravia by far, but very enjoyable and squeeworthy enough for a fangirl. XD But yeah, it’s always the middle ep that comes off worst, isn’t it? We are all going to die next week anyway. Just saying.
